Persephone

MORE MYTH WORK WUT!?

Yeah. This here is my mythology term project. I like it... and yet I don't?
Originally, I wanted to do a matrix reference, with Persephone reaching for the red pill (an elaborately disguised pomegranate seed). But.... I ended up with this?
I don't know. I think this is just my subconcience being weird. (I guess) I wanted her to look like a china doll. Before the ordeal with Hades, Persephone always sat in her mother, Demeter's lap, even though she was a grown girl. (Note that from this point on is all my interpretation of her story) She was always overprotected by her mother, put away where she would be safe. But I don't think she was happy.
So when she was kidnapped by Hades, I don't think she was that broken up about leaving her old life behind. I think she was still somewhat foolish, because after she ate the pomegranate seeds, she realized how unhappy she was in the underworld. Still, I can't help but think that she never felt alive until she did that.
This was the basic premise behind the original drawing idea, but now with a greater focus on the doll-like state her mother had put her in: beautiful, but fragile. Look, but don't touch.

...Or Mommy will go crazy and plunge the whole world into winter. Forever.

Technical things:
Took me somewhere between 3 and 5 hours.
Mechanical pencil (too lazy to use real pencils! XD)
No references (in spite of hours of searching...)

By the way: to my watchers, I apologize if this shows up in your box a bunch of times, I was silly and didn't proofread my description, so I keep messing with it. DX

EDIT: For the curious, I got 100/100 on this baby. And my teacher is holding it hostage (LOL). Honestly, I'm okay with it, though. I told her she could keep it. I'm flattered, really.
If I had put more time and effort into this, I probably would've had a panic attack over not getting it back. But as it stands, I think I was just lucky that it came out well in such a small amount of time. *shrug* Plus. She gave me a freaking 100 on a term project. I can live with this. XD
